May 5: Lovin' Spoon full... mmm, mmm.
Hey all,
Things are going well overall. Mommy and daddy are still enjoying our time together at home. I can't tell you how happy I am when (the countless!) number of people who jokingly ask Geneva "aren't you sick of having him at home?" get her response of "actually, it's been great." Truthfully, her tone sounds more shocked and pleasantly-surprised rather than matter-of-fact/ it-was-expected... but that's me, sandbagging expectations only to over-deliver on mediocrity. Three cheers for "above average" results. :)
Sydney's great. She can really hoist her head up and her core and back muscles are really strong. You really have to be on full alert when you are carrying her because she's so fast and elusive. And this week, Geve tried feeding her solids for the first time (Syd, for the record I was your temperature guinea pig and the food is honestly not so bad). Sydney's also got the really funny "cacking-chuckle" that she does when she's trying to get us to laugh/ or when she's responding to a laugh (though the sound makes mom a little uneasy because it sounds so hard on the throat).
Syd's weekly comidic act was highlighted by a morning episode of some serious poop-up-the-back-when-sitting-in-her-bumbo-chair (btw, she stained the chair with that poop).
On other fronts, the job search continues and looks promising (but no further comments on this public domain as there are still things to work out with one's previous employer). The good side to working again will be the domino effect of getting so many other things in order (moving, financing investments, taking a long deserved vacation, etc). However, our family of three is still cherishing everyday that we have together.
Looking forward to seeing the Edmonton crowd soon. Only a few days and counting. Ippssy, we're coming home!
Love you all.
P.S. Sydney and daddy are very happy that they can wear their Oiler gear around again.
