Olympics Downtown

The first weekend of the Olympics, we headed downtown to check out the festivities. It was a lot of walking but a lot of fun. We started at Robson Square and saw the first (of many) six hour lines for activities (i.e. for the zip-line, the medals at Royal CDN Mint, Art Gallery, etc), then it was off to see the flame (which was barricaded but it was still possible to get some good pictures of it). Off through Robson street (which was a great scene, very lively, lots of people for around the world), down Granville, through Yaletown and past ALBERTA house. A little lunch with the Tanakas at good ol' Yaletown Brewery (the food has gotten worse, but a great place still to catch the CZE vs RUS game).

It was a fun morning and a great time overall. The Olympic Spirit was very alive in Vancouver.
