We missed Ian & Katherine: December 2, 2006
The highlight of this last week without a doubt was the visit from Ian and Katherine. E & Kath lived in Seattle for a year, from last August to this August, while Ian was doing an orthopedic surgery fellowship. The four of us basically spent every other weekend together, driving back and forth between Seattle and here. From shopping adventures at Premium Outlets Mountain Chocolate Factory, to Marshall's and Nordstrom rack, to free samples and cheap apples at Rocky to Ridin' the Ducks and catching the Oiler playoff run, watching the slow declining death of a futon, to snowboarding pregnant (who knew?), and stalking Matt Hasselback for a signature on a helmet, we had too much fun. We really didn't realize how much we missed those guys until this week.
There was no real highlight of the week. Ian and Katherine came in last week with SO MANY gifts. The funniest once was a cart-wheeling/ dancing Tigger that we have yet to unveil with Sydney. But the funnest (it's a blog, grammar goes out the window) was a real jungle gym that Sydney just loves. It's her first real "chill-out" toy. Ian and Katherine were here for week, which included some of Auntie Katherine's special cooking (yummy lasagna), an Uncle Ian blitz of M&M meat shop (hey, if you spend over $35 you get free meatballs!!! what a deal! but those jalepeno poppers... yikes!), a few walks in a our record snowfall conditions, lots of ventures for bottled water because of the water advisory, and lots of nervous looks when we heard Sydney poops and feared the "up the back" explosive poops.
E & Kath, we missed you guys lots. We are so glad that you could come and visit. See you in February? :)
