More Portland Videos

Sydney's a big girl now. It was unreal watching her walk down the hallway, lead us to the room, and open the room with the hotel key.

Sydney & Logan on the swing

Yummy

The kids were great on this roadtrip. Lots of good eats too. Embassy Suites was fantastic, breakfast every morning with the family was a great way to start the day - and the help was fantastic (fan, humidifier and all).

mmm... donuts.

Cannon Beach with the fam

Absolutely gorgeous. We had an amazing time hanging out at the beach, building sand castles, walking the shoreline (and having Sydney freak out at washing her feet in the water because it was way too cold). One of my favourite days with my three favourite people.

Park & Lunch at Cannon Beack

We drove to Cannon Beach on the weekend, having heard great things about the Oregon coast. It did not disappoint.

Sydney and Logan enjoyed some time at the park first, before we headed to lunch at Sweet Basil. Lots of great mom and pop places. Geneva and I think we'll head back again some time soon.

Shoe shopping

good deals... like you wouldn't believe

Scenes from Portland

Portland street meat. There are food vendors lined up on every other block in Portland. It's like outdoor food courts. This was from a "Bulgogi Taco" place that was Korean owned and run. Bulgogii and Chicken combo - $7 each. Insane.

Portland draw bridges. Sydney and mommy loved watching the bridges rise for the ships coming in.

Beautiful city.

Walking around Portland

We arrived on Wednesday night after driving from Vancouver. The kids were good on the drive, the Wiggles on DVD continue to be our saviors.

Thursday dad worked during the day and then we raced to the Nike employee store. It was really cool, but we were rushed for time (after the kids napped and ate dinner) so we only had 40 minutes before closing time. Unfortunately, 10 minutes in - as Geneva was trying on her Lunar Lites - Sydney started to look very pale. Geve asked Syd if she felt ok, and she shook her head. Then Geve asked her if she was going to throw up, and she nodded. So Geve quickly scooped the box that her shoes were in, and Sydney threw up ALL OVER the box. It was quite something, the store staff were actually really nice.

Anyways, Saturday we walked around for most of the day. Checked out the Market, walked by the water, and through downtown. We stopped at Huber's for a turkey lunch with Adidas, and then strolled to the square. Luckily, Cirque du Soleil was pre-promoting a show, and there was a mini-Cirque festival. Logan napped, Sydney watched the performers, nibbled on free gummy bears and popcorn, and got a butterfly painted on her hand. It was great. Lovely weather.
